Acupuncture

Our acupuncture style utilizes Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) techniques while integrating a functional approach that treats muscles and nerves directly. Acupuncture can be used as part of your comprehensive, individually tailored recovery program.

Acupuncture can help treat a variety of ailments, such as:

  • Headaches and migraines

  • Sport-related pain and injuries

  • Low back pain

  • Temporomandibular joint pain (TMJ)

  • Painful menses

  • Acute and chronic pain

What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is the insertion of fine, single-use, sterile needles into specific locations in the body.

This 2000-year-old practice is now understood through the lens of the nervous system. The traditional Chinese medicine “channels” follow the body's major nerves and blood vessels. Inserting acupuncture needles near these major structures allows the practitioner to interact directly with the individual's nervous system and help facilitate change, which can facilitate healing.

The addition of electric impulses or “electric stim” can advance treatment further by using the same language of the nervous system, electrical impulses.

What Clients Say

  • I was seeing a neurologist for a year, tried countless medications and started seeing Forward Spine & Sport when I was having migraines every day of the week, feeling pretty hopeless they could get better. He was so thoughtful, comprehensive, and patient in his approach, and now I can go several days, sometimes even weeks, pain-free.

  • He’s so good about explaining how each treatment works and how different muscles can cause headaches. After noticing improvement in my condition (yay!) I recently decided to start introducing exercise back into my schedule (something I haven’t been able to do for years, as exercise is one of my main migraine triggers.)
